Now that you have found some of the best restaurants on the Silver Coast how about staying "here" so that you can sample a few of them and discover what this region has to offer!
There are literally hundreds of restaurants, pastelarias, bars and cafes within a 30km radius of the villa. I am just listing those that are close or ones we have tried ourselves. In all cases reservations would be advisable Friday evening through Sunday lunch and most times during July and August. These restaurants are in the price range from Cheap and Cheerful (Dinner with wine for two €20-35) to Mid Range, (Dinner with wine for two €35-60) none are High End.
Tasca do Janeca
This is the closest restaurant to the villa just 1.5kms north of here, an easy walk or short drive. Local fare at very reasonable prices.
Paderia 33
Bakery and coffee shop, great stop for a pastry or a toasted sandwich. About 1km north of here on the way to restaurant Tasca do Janeca. Great views of the Ocean from the patio.
Restaurante Meu Jardim
This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area. Owned by a French couple so the cuisine is French/Portuguese, superb! About a 10 minute drive north of the villa.
Restaurant Tipico da Serra
Our second closest restaurant, about 1.5 kms south of the villa. Typical Portuguese cuisine, famous for it's Bacalhau (cod fish) but has grilled meats as well. Friendly service and good portions.
Tasca do Tin Tin
On the main road through Alfeizerao. Excellent meat dishes and Tapas, the best fries ever! Friendly service, large portions and good value.
Pizzaria Portobello
Right on the Quay in Sao Martinho do Porto, so lovely views of the bay and boats. The best Pizzas ever with other Italian dishes to choose from, warning, they are not shy with the cheese! Good friendly service and one of our favourites.
Restaurante Granada
On the beach in Sao Martinho do Porto. The google maps photographs are misleading, the Granada wooden "Cafe" in the photographs has been demolished and that is now an outside patio area adjacent to the main restaurant which is super modern with glass frontage. Excellent food and varied menu, reasonable prices for such great food and location.
Tibino Casa do Petiscos
On the main street in the village of Foz do Arelho. An interesting variety of Tapas and main courses superbly presented, well worth a visit.
Restaurant Tavola
Next door to Tibino in Foz do Arelho. Very popular, great seafood dishes, good service, reasonably priced.
Cafe and Restaurante Central
We have a very popular cafe and restaurant next door, Foz do Arelho. Great seafood, fresh fish and meat dishes. They have a "Surf n Turf" to die for. Reasonable prices friendly service.
Nascer do Sol
This huge and hugely popular restaurant in Salir do Porto does excellent grilled meat, we recommend the Lombo do Javali, (enough for two) or the Tornedo de Vitela, excellent service and prices.
Little India
Nazare. Great Indian food at very fair prices great selection of meat fish and vegetarian dishes. Friendly service and everything cooked perfectly.
Delhi Darbar
Caldas da Rainha. The most popular Indian restaurant in the area, full of expats, great authentic food and much to choose from.
Solar dos Amigos
Tornada, just north of Caladas da Raniha in the countryside. A must go to. Several cottages knocked together on different levels full of antiques. Listen to the waiters about portions sizes as they are huge, 1 portion can serve 2 or even three! Dozens of home made desserts on offer also
A Lareira
Just off the road between Caldas da Rainha and Foz do Arelho, well sign posted. 3 course meal for €12.50 excellent food. Lunch time only.
