Short informative videos of Silver Coast Portugal

A few guest comments about the charm of the region

Sao Martinho do Porto is probably one of the nicest places on the Silver Coast if not in the whole of Portugal. You realise this when you just sit and relax at one of the many cafés and watch the waves lap the shore or just watching and listening to the locals going about their daily business. It's unique these days to find a place that is not ruined with tourists, yet there are plenty of tourists about, they just seem different. I think the Silver coast attracts a different type of holiday maker.

One of the major attractions apart from the beautiful scenery is the food. We could not find a restaurant we did not like, everyone is a bit different with such a variety of dishes, all local, reasonably priced, actually half the price of those down in the Algarve and Lisbon. A litre of house wine for 6 Euros, really!

The board walks in Sao Martinho do Porto and Foz do Arelho are a delight well worth a visit and very well maintained with great ocean views from both. There are plenty of level walks along the contour roads and tracks, arround the headlands they are well signposted so you won't get lost. There is plenty of accommodation, from Hotels to Bed and Breakfasts to luxury villas, we stayed of course in Villa Vida Nova and found it very satisfactory. There is an excellent restaurant near by Tasca da janeca so inexpensive and great food.We can't wait to return.
